Greece to open consulates in Mumbai and Bangalore

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has communicated to his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, the government’s plan to establish two new consulates in India, specifically in Mumbai and Bangalore, in the near future.

During a telephone discussion, the leaders also explored opportunities to enhance bilateral relations grounded in the strategic partnership they formalized in a joint statement during Modi’s official visit to Athens in August 2023. They emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation, particularly in the area of investments. Additionally, the two nations addressed collaborative efforts in light of Greece’s upcoming term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2025-2026 period.
